Some of you will know that I was young once… When I say young I mean a young person in WCCYM. Back in the day there use to be a youth club that run on a Wednesday evening, which was one of the highlights of my week. There were several options on how to spend the evening, Sport, Music or Hang out/craft. I’d just started playing the guitar so I thought I’d give the music option a go... When I say I’d just started playing, I really do mean just started playing. I could barely hold a guitar let alone play it!

After a while, me and the other members of the band started playing at Thirst which use to meet in the youth centre. It was at one particular Thirst that I felt the touch of God for the first time.

The time was Easter time. This particular Thirst a War Veteran can to speak on sacrifice, I don't remember anything particular about the talk but I know it really got me thinking… We then went on to sing a few songs, one of which was a song called ‘I love you for the Cross’. There’s a line in the song which goes ‘You where broken, you were beaten, you were punished and I go free’, which really spoke to me. It was during this song that I felt God’s touch for the very first time. Even now I struggle to express it, but what I can tell you is that it was from that moment that I knew God was real. I know from that moment I wanted to know more about God, I wanted to feel his touch again. Even though I’d been going to church all my life, knew the lingo and stuff I’d never had that experience. It was on that evening that I made a decision, that decision was to run after God and see where he’d take me.

Since then I’ve been on many adventures following God. Now, I’m back where I started, I’m back in the place where I first fell in love with the King!
